All in all with my mild OC my results are in part with a stock full XT or very slightly better.

I use a reference (blower) 5700 with XT firmware flashed and mildly overclocked (1950 MHz, 915 RAM) on 1440p. I agree and thanks again for your suggestions!.Am aware but I really like the features this motherboard has and while it doesn't have a 10 Gigabit Ethernet port 2.5Gb will still be useful to me.I understand but I want to have some headroom in case I may want to change the GPU or something next year.I've seen that SSD priced down to around $360 which isn't too bad for a 2TB SSD and it would be my only drive + I don't plan to upgrade often so I think it makes sense for me.I understand I don't need 32 GB but again yeah I don't plan to upgrade often.Any recommendations for 3600MHz RAM? Ideally a 32 GB kit of 16GBx2.Have planned to get a PCIe 4.0 NVMe M.2 SSD with read speeds of ~5GB/s. I've noticed this and agree ray tracing performance in games is not as high as I'd like it to be currently.I don't have a FreeSync 2 monitor yet but have one mostly locked in atm.overall you could save a good $400-$500 with a few changes and be fine.you dont need to go for that board either, there are more budget friendly options.850w is overkill, im using 750w and i could probably get away with 650w.i would go for cheaper ssd drive that drive is over kill unless you do a lot of productivity work.you dont need 32 gb ram so you can go with 16gb and be fine.3900x is a waste unless you a) dont upgrade often or b) do productivity work.star citizen seems to scale well with multi core cpus as well (obviously cpu importance is heavily impacted by resolution as well) sometimes the gpu is more the bottleneck not the cpu, 3600 or better will be fine.if you do go for an rtx card for some reason understand current gen cards arent really powerful enough for ray tracing.if you wanted to play 2560x1440 very high with raytracing you would need an rtx 2080 ti and even then you would get sub 60 fps.it can cut fps in half so not worth it imo.if you have a free sync 2 monitor don't bother with an nvidia card.i havent had any driver crashes at all, not sure if that is just luck but dont be put off just because the 5700 xt are new I have settings at Very High with motion blur off.įPS is around 60 however i do gets noticeable drops on occasion. I am using 3600x with 16gb of 3600 cl16 ram and the powercolor red devil 5700xt at 2560x1440 with a freesync 2 monitor
